Children's Genre List for Teacher Education: Nonfiction Expository

How to Search

Non-Fiction Expository – These are books that attempt to explain or inform the reader about a certain topic: what something is, who someone is, what something means, how something works, why something is important.  For your search terms, you will need to use words like “Titanic” and “shipwrecks”, “Women’s suffrage”, animal names, planet names, etc.  Some words can have many meanings and it may be necessary to add another search term to clarify what you mean.
