Program Overview

The primary focus of the Summer Reading Enrichment Program is developmental reading and literacy skills for students. The library staff and the College of Education are partnering to present this program free of charge.

Dress Code

Dress Code Guideline

Because of the nature of the program, all participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Participants are not permitted to wear sleeveless tops.  The length of all dresses, skirts, and shorts should be no shorter than 4 inches above the top of the knee and must allow students to walk, stoop, kneel, and sit with modesty. Children who do not adhere to the dress code will not be able to attend the program.

Attendance

Program Attendance Guideline

Due to the limited amount of space in the program, we must adhere to a strict attendance policy. During the duration of the 3 week curriculum of study, students must arrive between 8:45-9:00 am. Students can miss no more than 3 days during the course of the program term.  Students missing more than 3 days may be dropped from the program pending review from the program coordinator.  Dismissal is between 12 and 12:15 pm each day and students will need to be picked up promptly in this time range. Students cannot be left unattended in the Library or on TAMUCT campus grounds.  Students not picked up in a timely manner may be dismissed from the program depending upon frequency and nature of the incident.
