For Spring 2025, we are utilizing the registration list from Fall 2024.
We had a long waitlist and will try to accommodate as many children as possible.
Parents with a reserved slot will be contacted by email in late January with an anticipated start date of early February.
We are currently hiring additional tutors, since some of our workers graduated at the end of the Fall semester. Thank you for understanding!
Tutoring will be scheduled on:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays at 4:30-5:30 pm, 5:30-6:30 pm, or 6:30-7:30 pm
Attendance Guidelines
Due to the limited amount of space in the program, students must adhere to a strict attendance policy. For the entire semester, students must arrive no later than 10 minutes after the start of each session. Students who arrive more than 10 minutes late may not be allowed to attend for that day. A student who misses a session without contacting the program coordinator in advance will be considered a "no show."
Students with two "no show" days will be dropped from the program pending review from the program coordinator. We often have a long waitlist of students, so those who do not attend on a weekly basis are taking a spot that another child could utilize. Students cannot be left unattended in the Library or on the TAMUCT campus grounds. Parents must wait outside the tutoring room or remain somewhere in the building during tutoring.
Dress Code Guideline
Because of the nature of the program, all participants must wear closed-toe shoes. Participants are not permitted to wear sleeveless tops. The length of all dresses, skirts, and shorts should be no shorter than 4 inches above the top of the knee and must allow students to walk, stoop, kneel, and sit with modesty. Children who do not adhere to the dress code will not be able to attend the program.
The primary focus of the Tutoring Program is developmental reading and math skills for students in 1st through 5th grade. Our target audience is students who are at-risk or in need of homework help. The library provides this program free of charge.
