Circulation Services: Interlibrary Loans

Interlibrary Loan Platform: TIPASA

Do you need to get an article or book from another library?

All Interlibrary loan requests will be submitted using a platform called Tipasa.

Tipasa takes advantage of Single Sign-On authentication, so if you are already logged on to Canvas or Outlook, you will not have to log in again to access your interlibrary loan account!  Simply click on the Tipasa link above or click on the "Request an Item or Check your Account" link in the Interlibrary Loan box in the left column. However, If you are just opening up a new browser and your first stop is the library, you may be asked to log in.  Log into the Tipasa interface to create and manage interlibrary loan requests using the same A&M-Central Texas login (full email + password) you use to log into email or Canvas.

From the Tipasa interface:

  • You can sign up for email or text notifications, or
  • You can find information about the status of your request in your online account, and you'll no longer need to contact library staff
  • Articles will be electronically delivered to your account

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the service that gives you access to the resources of other libraries. You can use ILL to borrow books, media and get PDFs of articles and book chapters. The Tipasa platform allows you to view all of your requests on a single page, provides links to articles, and details about the status of your requests and item due dates. You also can submit new requests from this interface. You will receive emails from us with status updates.

Proxy Users to pick up ILLs

The library proxy checkout program allows university faculty and staff members to authorize other individuals to check out library materials with their library account. Proxy Users.
