E-reserves are a convenient way for faculty to make resources available to their students electronically. E-reserves can be requested online. Faculty who wish to place an e-reserves request should use the request form in the column to the left. After the request has been submitted, the library will review it.
E-Reserve materials are processed in the order received and as quickly as possible. Priority will also be given to assignments occurring earlier in the semester. Please submit e-reserve requests at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester or two weeks before students will need access to them. Please allow a minimum of 7 to 10 working days, particularly at the beginning of each semester.
All e-reserves must be in copyright and accessibility compliance. Access information may only be given to students in the course for which the material has been approved. Sharing access information with any individual outside of this course may result in a violation of copyright law.
Questions or Concerns? For help placing e-reserves, please contact Lisa Hopkins (l.hopkins@tamuct.edu) or (254) 519-5755; or Dawndrea Casey (dawndrea.casey@tamuct.edu) or (254) 519-5729.
The University Library is pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to house your recommended readings on our Reserve shelves. You may draw from our existing collection or request the library purchase books, DVDs, and CDs, to supplement and complement the material on your syllabus. We offer the following Reserve options:
Questions or Concerns? Please contact the our staff at (library@tamuct.edu) or (254) 519-5798.
The University Copyright Specialist is available for individual consultation to discuss copyright/fair use dilemmas on a case-by-case basis, or faculty can direct students to schedule a consultation to discuss whether they can use images, tables, and graphs in their papers. Visit the copyright research guide for basic overview of copyright in the classroom, a Fair Use Checklist, and copyright basics.
The library proxy checkout program allows university faculty and staff to authorize certain individuals to check out materials using their library account on their behalf.
Individuals who may be given proxy privileges by faculty or staff include:
Faculty or staff must complete the online Proxy Form to set up proxy access to their library account either online or at the circulation desk in the library. Library staff will delay activation until the account owner is contacted via email to verify proxy authorization.
The sponsoring faulty or staff will receive notifications regarding the account such as overdue, lost, or damaged materials. Faculty and staff will be responsible for the return and safe keeping of all materials checked out by an authorized proxy. The sponsoring faculty or staff member will be responsible for any library fines or replacement costs accrued as a result of items checked out by a proxy user.
At the time of checkout, the proxy user must provide a picture ID and inform the service desk personnel that he or she wishes to use his or her proxy status when checking out materials for a faculty or staff member. Otherwise, the materials will automatically check out to the proxy users’ personal account.
All faculty and staff must renew proxy authorizations annually.
Questions or Concerns? Please contact the library at library@tamuct.edu or (254) 519-5798.
