Undergraduate research can inspire students to get invested in learning about their community, while also sparking potential interest in graduate education. When questions are framed in terms of real world change, students can get answers that directly impact them or people they know.
Librarians are an excellent partner for promoting research in different courses, whether the focus in on crafting research questions, refining search strategies, citing sources as evidence for one's thinking, and determining whether information is credible or useful for different needs. We have also created information literacy rubrics and lesson plans, which can be taught by our instruction librarians during your class sessions.
To help students pursue research, we have created various tutorials to promote a scholarly mindset. Those can be found at: https://tamuct.libguides.com/Tutorials
