Our department provides a wide selection of resources to meet the academic needs of researchers at all program levels. The reference staff are core subject area specialists in fields taught at TAMUCT. The librarians will gladly direct you to appropriate resources available in the library, on the web, or other locations to fulfill your research needs.
Library users may access print copies of books and similarly view eBooks. Numerous databases contain research journals with full text availability online. Patrons may listen to CDs or view DVDs at our computer workstations with headsets. Further research assistance can be provided through the Reference Department’s bibliographic instruction sessions, Ask a Librarian service, and “one on one” research assistance sessions.
The philosophy of reference at TAMUCT is a belief each day is a new learning experience, which broadens the horizons of reference services and users alike.
Guided by library and university goals, the mission of the TAMUCT Reference Services is to collect, organize, and disseminate library materials and information in a variety of formats to the students, faculty, and staff of Texas A&M University Central Texas; heighten campus awareness of the library along with its services and programs; and foster statewide cooperation and resource sharing among all types of libraries.
Inherent in this mission is the Reference Department's advocacy of the right of all users to read and have full access to all library materials; further ensuring ready access to users regardless of location, income level, technological means, or disability.
