The Texas A&M University-Central Texas Library Distance Education Services program aims to provide quality assistance to TAMUCT Students, Faculty, Staff and Community users seeking information sources remotely by providing digital reference services, online information literacy tutorials, and digital materials.

The library's collection is primarily digital, with items through our library databases. To search through most of these electronic resources at once, use the box in the upper left hand corner of this screen.
Databases: The library has many electronic resources available 24X7. These include the majority of the books and journals available through the library, with approximately 250,000 ebooks and 80,000 ejournals. Resources cover most subjects taught at the University. If you want to find those specific to your studies, visit our research by subject webpage.
Usernames and Passwords: Some of these resources are password protected, to ensure that only TAMUCT students, faculty, and staff can access them, in compliance with license agreements. Access to the databases is authenticated through your single sign on--the same way you log into email, Canvas, Warrior Web, etc. You will use your full email and password when prompted.
The library works to ensure that all of the services we make available face-to-face are also available online. These include the services listed below.
Chat with a Librarian: This is a chat service that is staffed by TAMUCT Librarians whenever the library is open, and by a group of helpful librarians from across the United States and the United Kingdom the rest of the time. Simply type in a question and someone will get back to you within a few minutes.
Schedule a Virtual Reference Appointment: Research consultations are for advanced researchers with specific needs, who require more personalized, in-depth attention from a reference librarian. Faculty and graduate students, in particular, can benefit from these consultations, because they help those working on new projects refresh their research practices for digital environments.
Research Guides: The library offers many guides to basic research tasks online. You can see step by step explinations, as well as visual tutorials.
Research by Subject: The library also offers guides specific to certain classes, subjects, or areas of research. These are available through our research by subject service.
Guides to Citing in APA, MLA, ASA, and Chicago: The library usually recommends the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) for quick help citing in a miriad of styles.

Materials can be picked up at the Circulation Desk in Warrior Hall or the Information Desk at EWCHEC Library in Hutto. Patrons can replace a hold to have items waiting at the Warrior Hall Desk or delivered to the EWCHEC Desk. Patrons that live farther than 50 miles from 1001 Leadership Place, Killeen, Texas may also request items for delivery by email or through the Unite States Postal Service.
Alternate Location Delivery: Alternate Location Delivery is available to all faculty, students, and staff of Texas A&M University-Central Texas. Alternate Location Delivery is used to extend access to library materials located at the University Library to the EWCHEC Library in Hutto. Any books, journal articles, or other materials owned by TAMUCT University Library can be temporarily moved to EWCHEC, though some items may not be available for check out.
Distance Delivery: Distance Delivery is a service provided to all Texas A&M University-Central Texas faculty, students, and staff that are located more than 50 miles away from 1001 Leadership Place, Killeen, Texas, 76549. Distance Delivery is used to extend access to library materials located at the University Library in Warrior Hall. Books or journal articles owned by Texas A&M University-Central Texas Library can sent to users through email or via the US Postal Service.
TexShare: The TexShare Card program is a cooperative agreement between libraries in the state of Texas to loan materials to patrons from partner libraries. TAMUCT is a member of the TexShare Card program. TAMUCT students, faculty and staff can borrow material from other Texas libraries, including the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and Southwestern University. TAMUCT Libraries can only issue TexShare cards to individuals who are TAMUCT Faculty, Students or Staff. However, most local public libraries in the state of Texas will be able to issue a TexShare card to their patrons.
Interlibrary Loan: Interlibrary loan is a program that allows you to use books borrowed from institutions throughout the United States. Though books and some articles will be delivered in print, and mailed to you, many articles will be delivered electronically through the interlibrary loan system. As a result, this is a resource for both on campus and distance students.
